Summer Rewind: Casual Wedding Reception

While I gear up for (hopefully) more regular blogging, I thought it would be fun to show a few of my favorite outfits from this past summer.  Not exactly going to be showcasing a lot of business casual, but we'll get there soon enough.  Given that it's still below freezing outside, it's nice to look back and remember warmer months!

First up - My attire for a coworker's semi-casual wedding reception in a Chicago high-rise.  She got married in Pennsylvania, but was kind enough to host a second reception for all of us when they returned.

A wanted a fun, summery dress - so I picked the flowery-est thing I owned and dressed it up with shiny gold.  This dress was actually put out by The Limited in the summer of 2011, but I found it on eBay (new with tags) in the spring of 2012 for $14.  I love a bargain.  And skirt ruffles.

This kisslock clutch is a vintage piece I stumbled across while visiting Los Angeles last year.  My friend and I were getting weekend brunch in Silverlake, then walked over to the local farmers market.  There are always thrift and vintage booths there, and I snagged the bag for only 8 bucks!

Enjoying the reception with a few coworkers from my old job.  Love their dresses!

The view was certainly nothing to complain about... makes me nostalgic for the city :-)

Happy Valentines Day!

Red flats today, to be a bit festive.  Oh, and I bought myself chocolates.  That counts, right?

Hibernation...

I've said it before, but I'll keep saying it... this blog will live again someday, and by someday I mean after winter is over!

In the meantime, pardon the dust as I re-design, and think spring...

Afterthought... I just might post some long-lost summertime outfits in the meantime.  Not much in the way of workwear there, but I was on vacation!  We'll see what photos I can dredge up for that.
